Around 600 experts and executives from across Germany gathered on 14 November in the headquarters of the Tengelmann Group in Mülheim an der Ruhr for the 14th Family Business Career Day.
Karl-Erivan W. Haub, managing and personally liable director of the group, explained why he likes to host these career days: "We want to use the Family Business Career Day to inspire motivated and interested professionals and graduates to be a part of our 147 year old family business. And we want to provide another family business in Tengelmann Technikum the appropriate forum to do the same!"

Although being located in rural regions, large family businesses offer international career opportunities. This applies to the host of the 13th Family Business Career Day PERI GmbH as well as most of the other 40 exhibiting companies that presented themselves in Weißenhorn bei Ulm on 27 June. From the more than 2,500 applicants about 600 professionals and managers were selected in advance: university graduates through to experienced professionals were in attendance at the Family Business Career Day to gather information about specific career deals and to lead personal interviews with decision makers of the exhibiting companies. Often it was the owners of the companies themselves who spoke to the applicants.
For Alexander Schwörer (r.), Managing Partner of PERI GmbH, talking with potential specialists and managers was the "top priority".
